We've got a program for you — Here at International TEFL Academy, we are super excited to launch round 3 of our Alumni Ambassador's program! From organizing meet-ups to connecting on social media, ITA Alumni Ambassadors will spearhead our efforts to create a support system in our community of ITA teachers abroad.

WHAT IS AN ITA AMBASSADOR?

An ITA Ambassador is one of our alumni that will provide outreach to fellow teachers.

ITA Ambassadors will provide first-hand information about living & teaching English abroad in many of the premier markets across the globe. From Berlin to Seoul to Bogotá, our Ambassadors will be sharing everything from day-to-day tips and food recommendations, to live glimpses into his/her life abroad across ITA's blog and social media platforms.

The goal of the ITA Ambassador program is to strengthen the ITA Alumni community abroad through leadership and outreach. We want to make sure each and every ITA Alumni feel prepared as he/she boards the plane for the adventure of a lifetime.

ALUMNI AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
2018-2019 ROLES

We will be opening up applications to fill four separate Alumni Ambassador roles:

1. Alumni Video Ambassador

2. Alumni Photography Ambassador

3. Alumni Content & Writing Ambassador

4. Alumni Social Media Ambassador

 

Each of the above 4 roles will be made up of multiple ITA alumni. Your ambassadorship will run for a period of 6 months from October 15, 2018 - April 12, 2019, in which you must be teaching abroad during this entire timeYou can read more about each role in the section below by clicking on the role title for it to expand.

HOW TO APPLY

Please note, in order to apply, you must already be teaching
English abroad for a minimum of 3 months!!!

Your ambassadorship will run for a period of 6 months from October 15, 2018 - April 12, 2019, in which you must be teaching abroad during this entire time

ALUMNI VIDEO AMBASSADOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role as ITA Alumni Video Ambassador will be to highlight your time living and teaching English abroad via video. We want to see a firsthand look into your day-to-day life abroad via short video projects made up of specific topics tailored to you.
 
The goal is to give first-time travelers and teachers a glimpse into what their life abroad might also look like. 
 
You will be provided with an Ambassador Playbook that will highlight all your required tasks, how to complete them, examples, due dates, etc at the beginning of your Ambassadorship.
 
Based on feedback from our last round of Video Ambassadors, you can expect to spend anywhere between 1-3 hours per week on this role.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Note: We recommend you own a professional camera (DSLR) and/or a GoPro for this role, as well as editing software. We're looking for better quality video than just footage from your phone (unless of course, you have a new phone like the iPhone X that takes awesome video!). You will also require a reliable internet/wifi connection.
 
As our ITA Alumni Video Ambassador, you will be required to:
 
• Produce a monthly video (across a 6 month period) based on tailored topics that will be provided to you. We are looking for a vlog-style of video in which you take us around, talk to the camera, etc. 
 
→ Each individual video must not exceed 3 minutes in duration.
→ Video content must be edited by you and submitted to us as a final version.
 
• Fill out a Personal Profile (template provided) + provide images of yourself
• Write a City Fact Sheet (template provided)
• Conduct x2 Instagram Story takeovers on the ITA Instagram channel showing a typical day in your life abroad
• Host either in-person or online ITA Alumni Meetups (location-dependent) 
• Participate in a Facebook Live session organized and hosted by ITA

ALUMNI PHOTOGRAPHY AMBASSADOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role as ITA Alumni Photography Ambassador will be to highlight your time living and teaching English abroad in beautiful, high-quality, photographs. We want to see a firsthand look into your day-to-day life abroad via small photo projects made up of specific topics tailored to you.
 
The goal is to give first-time travelers and teachers a glimpse into what their life abroad might look like.
 
You will be provided with an Ambassador Playbook that will highlight all your required tasks, how to complete them, examples, due dates, etc at the beginning of your Ambassadorship.
 
Based on feedback from our last round of Photography Ambassadors, you can expect to spend anywhere between 1-2 hours per week on this role.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

ALUMNI CONTENT & WRITING AMBASSADOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role as ITA Alumni Content & Writing Ambassador will be to highlight your time living and teaching English abroad. You are our star writer and your content will be featured on our ITA blog.
 
Through your writing, the goal is to give first-time travelers and teachers a glimpse into what their life abroad might look like.
 
You will be provided with an Ambassador Playbook that will highlight all your required tasks, how to complete them, examples, due dates, etc at the beginning of your Ambassadorship.
 
Based on feedback from our last round of Content & Writing Ambassadors, you can expect to spend anywhere between 1-2 hours per week on this role.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Note: We recommend that you own a digital camera or a phone with a high-quality camera - each of your writing tasks will require original photos taken by you to accommodate them. You will also require a reliable internet/wifi connection.
 
As our ITA Alumni Content & Writing Ambassador, you will be required to:
 
• Produce monthly writing projects based on tailored topics that will be provided to you. Number of writing projects TBD.
 
→ You will be required to submit a minimum of 5 high-quality photos per post that are relevant to each topic. Photos must be taken by you and kept at their full dimensions and resolution (i.e.: Try to avoid submitting Instagram-sized/cropped photos).
 
• Fill out a Personal Profile (template provided) + provide images of yourself
• Write a City Fact Sheet (template provided)
• Conduct x2 Instagram Story takeovers on the ITA Instagram channel showing a typical day in your life abroad
• Host either in-person or online ITA Alumni Meetups (location-dependent) 
• Participate in a Facebook Live session organized and hosted by ITA

ALUMNI SOCIAL MEDIA AMBASSADOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your role as ITA Alumni Social Media Ambassador will be to highlight your time living and teaching English abroad via Social Media and Webinars. You are our go-to, on-the-ground person, engaging other alumni in your country and helping others understand your experience abroad.
 
 Your goal is to provide first-time travelers, teachers, and prospective students with a glimpse as to what life as a teacher is like in the country you are living in.
 
Based on feedback from our last round of Social Media Ambassadors, you can expect to spend anywhere between 1-2 hours per week on this role.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Note: We recommend that you own either a professional camera (DSLR) or a phone with a high-quality camera. You'll also need a laptop with good audio/visual capabilities and a reliable internet connection.
 
As our ITA Social Media Ambassador, you will be required to:
 
• Participate in a Facebook Live session organized and hosted by ITA
• Participate in generating discussion and answering questions in the ITA Alumni Facebook Group for the country you live in  
 Weekly photo posts to your own, personal Instagram account based on tailored topics that will be provided to you - number of Instagram posts TBD
• Conduct x2 Instagram Story takeovers on the ITA Instagram channel showing a typical day in your life abroad
• Prepare webinar slides and record a voice-over for a relevant webinar topic provided to you
• Fill out a Personal Profile (template provided) + provide images of yourself
• Write a City Fact Sheet (template provided)
• Host either in-person or online ITA Alumni Meetups (location-dependent)
