What classes do you teach at International TEFL Academy?

I have been teaching the Online TEFL Certification Course since June of 2020.

What is your educational background?

  • MA in TESOL, Azusa Pacific University

  • BA in English, Sanda University

Where have you taught?

U.S. – I have taught ESL to adults at San Diego ELS Language Centers and at San Diego Mesa College.

Overseas – I taught EFL to adults in China, and to children and adults in Thailand. I also tutored EFL in Germany.

What countries have you visited?

US, Mexico, China, Thailand, Germany, Italy, and the UK.

What is your favorite travel memory?

There’re so many of them. One of them was while I was teaching in Shanghai, China, The movie Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was being filmed there. One of my colleagues worked as a location assistant for the crew, so I got to work there too as an assistant. It’s pretty cool to get a glimpse of what working on a movie set looks like.

What advice do you have for ITA students who want to teach English abroad?

Always have a backup activity before going to your class. Sometimes plan A doesn’t work, it’s a lifesaver to have a backup activity that doesn’t require much prep in advance. I still do this today!
