Originally from Allegan, Michigan, Chad Kent, got TEFL certified online after completing his associate's degree and at age 21 followed his girlfriend to her native Brazil. He has been teaching in Sao Joao del Rei while living with a local family and taking advantage of the opportunities to immerse himself in the local language and culture.
