Why Work in Europe Through an ITA Student Visa Program?

Work and Study in Europe

One of the biggest hurdles for Americans wanting to work in Spain and Italy is getting a work visa for stays longer than 90 days. But with International TEFL Academy, you can overcome this challenge and experience living and working abroad.

  • Student Visa Advantage: Enroll in an accredited language training program with us (Italian, Spanish, or Catalan) and get a student visa that allows you to legally work, typically up to 20 hours a week.
  • High Demand for English Teachers: There's a huge need for TEFL-certified English teachers in Spain and Italy, with 300-500 language schools in major cities like Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome alone.
  • Multiple Work Opportunities: Beyond language schools, you can teach English online or give private lessons. Our team will help guide you through the hiring process in Europe.
  • Comfortable Living: Even first-time English teachers can earn up to €1,500 a month, which is typically enough to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle abroad.

I felt that this was a place where I would get the support and guidance I would need to take the next step.

I chose ITA primarily because of their huge and active alumni community which has been an invaluable source of information and encouragement throughout my experience - it was definitely a good choice.

The TEFL course in Florence was rigorous and rewarding. It was described as an intensive course and this was no idle boast. I liked it very much. The difficulty of the coursework prepared me for the challenges of foreign language instruction and I cannot imagine teaching English without the training I received.
