Italian Culture Training Course Content

This Italian Culture Course includes 6 modules based on the following topics.  It is self-paced so you are able to complete your coursework according to your own schedule & convenience. 

Italy at a Glance

Learn some of the most common conceptions among people in Italy: their work and social life, values, and communication style. Module 1 also covers perspectives of locals and ex-pats on Italian politics and religion, plus some unique facts and no-nos about Italian culture.

Regions of Italy

Learn about Italy’s key cities and larger regions within the country, and you will come to appreciate Italy’s distinct regional identities. Finally, Module 2 will help you appreciate the differences between life in rural Italy and in metropolitan areas.

Italian Customs and Etiquette

This module is where you’ll get loads of practical advice on how to interact confidently and respectfully, without causing offense or making clumsy faux pas.

Adjusting to Life in Italy

Read about the different ways in which people adapt to a new cultural environment so that when you arrive in Italy you will be able to smoothly navigate your new start. This module is filled with helpful advice from expats on different possible scenarios during your process of adjustment, and how to thrive through all of them.

Becoming a Local

Get to know Italy and the people well enough to be considered a ‘local’. In this module, you’ll learn about nightlife, where to meet people and make friends, and common hobbies and interests.

Identities, Diversity & Inclusion in Italy

Learn about the history as well as the present experiences of local and expat women, LGBTQ+ people, and BIPOC to help you better understand the workings of Italian society, and make you aware of your own position.
