The TEFL Training school in Florence Italy was founded as a language school in 1959 by the United States Information Service and then privatized in the 1960s. It is now one of the leading American English schools in Italy and has received approval from the Ministry of Public Education to teach American English and culture. It is an active member of international organizations such as TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and NAFSA (National Association of Foreign Student Advisors), and it works closely with other American language schools throughout the world.

The American Language Center is located in Piazza della Repubblica, just a short walk from the world-famous Duomo. Our facilities include several multi-purpose classrooms, offices, a library, and a terrace overlooking the historic city center. Satellite TV, computers, and an ESL Library are on the premises.

* Note about Florence job market: Florence is a charming, moderate-sized city in Italy that hosts numerous language schools with hiring cycles throughout the year. Language schools do not follow a traditional academic year calendar and have regular courses starting frequently, while also regularly hiring for private tutoring. While there's a healthy level of competition in the job market, graduates often find work in Florence. A new city tram makes accessibility throughout the city wonderful. It's worth noting that Italy, as a country, offers numerous cities like Rome and Milan where English teachers can also find exciting opportunities.

The TEFL course in Florence, Italy was rigorous and rewarding. It was described as an intensive course, and this was no idle boast. The instructors formed a highly enthusiastic and experienced team that gave its full effort and attention to the TEFL students. I liked this course very much. The difficulty of the coursework prepared me for the challenges of foreign language instruction, and the instructors provided inspiring, yet relatable examples of the professionalism and expertise required of a good EFL teacher.

The TEFL class and training has helped me immensely in the classroom. The instructors were great and prepared me well for my current job.

Culture is great and I have been learning a lot about the history of Italy. Travel opportunities are great here too. Food is fantastic. Public transportation is ok, not my favorite, but it gets me where I need to go.

I really liked the course! The instructors were AMAZING, AWESOME, and INCREDIBLE. They made the classes go by quickly, and I could tell that they wanted us to do well. The course was intensive. It is recognized by two higher education schools for 6 graduate credits. It is manageable as long as you practice and go through the material regularly! I learned how to divide up lessons and make class timing more efficient. I also now know how to teach students varying in English fluency levels.
