What Advice Do You Have for ITA Students Who Want to Teach English Abroad?

Teaching is one of the best jobs in the world, and teaching and living abroad is a truly unique and special experience. Be ready to go with the flow, trust that things will work out, and have a plan B just in case things go differently than you thought they would. Stick with teaching at the same school and in the same country for one year if possible. If you can stay for a second year, do it. Once you get through the first year, things get so much better. Avoid negative people and hanging out only with people who are from your country and/or speak English. Make friends with locals and get out and do things. Treat each experience abroad as if it were the last time you will be able to visit/live in that place.
