Abroad: Poland, UK, Japan, and Kuwait

What countries have you visited?

Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Japan, Kuwait, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador.

What is your favorite travel memory?

I was a judge for a student version of “American Idol” at a middle school in a small town in Poland. The other two judges on the panel were Catholic priests who spoke almost no English!

What advice do you have for ITA students who want to teach English abroad?

Go with an open mind. Leave your preconceived notions behind. Try to have an even mix of local and expat friends. Use one day of your weekend for reconnecting with loved ones back home and resting. Use the other for exploring!
