I am a Student Affairs Advisor. My role is to assist students once they enroll in our courses with navigating our resources, complete the job search process, and help them as they navigate visa processes for the countries they plan to teach at.
I went to college to become an engineer and ended up with an Economics degree. My passion for leadership and student development and my experience as an international student led me to this mission of serving students through their educational and professional journeys. I love painting and drawing, and I am the owner of Baoh Blaze, an African hot sauce and pesto small business.
I’m from Central Africa and went to college in Portland. It was quite the cultural change leaving the tropical urban life of my home country to land in the city of hippies and bicycles. I got my Bachelors of Arts from Reed College and my Masters of Education from Grand Valley State University.
I went to Nigeria right after graduating from high school. I was there for 3 months and got to experience one of the most dynamic countries in the world. I learned so much about the strong work ethic, bustling business life, and amazing Naija cuisine and art scene. This is when I caught the travel bug.
Canada, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, the United States, Turkey, and counting. I am planning to go to all 5 continents within the next 3-5 years.
Ghana and The US. I tutored English and Math in Ghana at an elementary school and I have been working and teaching Educational Leadership in the US.
One of my favorite trips involved me taking my students to Memphis for Spring Break. We visited the National Civil Rights Museum and Lorraine Motel, Habitat for Humanity/ReStore, Stax Records, and the Music Hall of Fame. Our favorite part of the trip was the BBQ food tour we did on Beale Street. I never thought I would ever try and enjoy BBQ pasta (Hey! Don’t knock it until you try it!).
I love African, Creole, Thai, Mediterranean, and Mexican street food. I also really enjoy food from the southern part of the US, tapas, and AUTHENTIC Italian food, especially real pizza.
I’m excited about helping our students find meaningful and fulfilling experiences that will make their TEFL education worthwhile. I am a true believer that there’s no experience like traveling and immersing yourself in other cultures.
