Are you already TEFL certified?

If you hold an internationally accredited TEFL certification which is at least 120 hours through one of our approved TEFL providers, you will qualify for our TEFL Jobs Programs in Thailand. Please note that ITA’s alumni network and lifetime job search guidance are only available to graduates of our online and in-person TEFL courses.

Cultural Orientation

To help you get the most out of your experience in Thailand, both in and out of the classroom, we provide a 40-hour in-person cultural orientation with fellow new ESL teachers in the coastal town of Hua Hin. This takes place during the first week of the program prior to starting your placement and includes lessons and presentations on Thai culture, society, history, politics, and language. In addition, your orientation in Thailand includes a variety of cultural activities & excursions capped off with a beach BBQ at the end of the week. 

Cultural Excursions & Activities Include:

• Hands-on Thai cooking classes & meals 
• Visit to a local Thai night market where you will practice your Thai language skills and buy ingredients for your Thai cooking class
• Volunteering at an animal rescue shelter
• A traditional Muay Thai (martial arts) Lesson
• Teaching Practicum: Gain preparation and confidence through practice teaching Thai students in a controlled setting with support and feedback from experienced English teachers.
• Visit a local Buddhist temple to learn about local religious traditions and receive a blessing from a Thai monk.
• Beach BBQ
