Instruction is provided by highly qualified and experienced instructors all of whom hold at least a master's degree in teaching English as a foreign language and are CELTA-certified. All instructors and assistant CELTA trainers must possess at 5 years of ESL/EFL classroom experience in multiple environments (including 1 year of teaching abroad), and complete a rigorous 2-month training program under University of Cambridge supervision.

  • Homestays: $325 per week (breakfast and dinner included); private single room.
  • Student Residence: Studio for $500 per week, One Bedroom $1000 per week; fully furnished and no meals included.
  • Beach Walk Suite: $485 per week, studio; walk up building with a pool and 1 block from Waikiki beach.
  • Hotel: also available for about $160 per night. 

     

     

    All accommodations have a $160 cleaning fee and ICC charges an accommodation placement fee for $160.

Enrollment Information for Hawaii TEFL Classes

IMPORTANT! Before enrolling for any International TEFL Academy TEFL course, it is imperative that you Contact International TEFL Academy for more information about TEFL Certification in Florencespeak to an Admissions Advisor. Your advisor will answer your questions and assist you with matters such as your eligibility & enrollment; course costs & logistics (such as housing); and your options for employment as an English teacher once you complete your TEFL Class.
 
Requirements for Enrollment:

  • Minimum: 20 years
  • While a college degree is not required, candidates must meet the requirements for entry into a university & the ability to complete a university-level course. 
  • Non-native English speakers: English level must be C2 or High C1, Grade A orB on the CEFR
  • Must understand the demands of the course, including the full-time commitment and required attendance.
  • Must understand that completion of the course does not guarantee that the candidate will pass the course.

 
Please note: You must apply for your Hawaii CELTA TEFL Class at least 4 weeks prior to your desired course start date.

1. Complete CELTA application (this will be sent to you by your International TEFL Academy admissions advisor)

2. Pre-Interview Task (this assignment will be sent to you by the course director upon receipt of your application)

3. Interview with course director

4. Within 10 days of acceptance, candidates must send a $600 deposit to ITA (to hold your seat in class) in addition to a signed CELTA Declaration. This Declaration must be signed in ink and returned to the course administrator.

5.  A “Pre-Course Task” will be sent to you by course instructors. It will take about 30 hours to complete and must be done before the first day of class. This task is a self-tutorial on all areas of English, including a grammar refresher. This allows for more time in class to focus on improving pedagogical skills.
