I studied abroad in London as an undergraduate student, and that kicked off a desire to find a way to live in a different country and explore the world.

I’m from PA (many parts–upstate in the mountains, Amish country in Lancaster, and NE Philadelphia). I went to Millersville University of PA.

Going abroad as a study abroad student was what opened my eyes to living abroad, and I still consider my time in London as my jumping-off point for my lifelong interest in education abroad.

Canada, Chile, UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I’ve taught abroad in China for over ten years.

Hard to choose just one, but I’d say our travel mix-up in Ireland stands out in my memory. We ALL thought that our departure date was on a Thursday, but after arriving at the airport we realized we weren’t due to fly out until Friday. So, with our extra day, we got out of Dublin and took a tour through the beautiful countryside. Rarely does an airport debacle turn into such a perfect opportunity to make a great memory.

Teaching abroad changed my life, and I want to encourage others to pursue a similar experience overseas.
