ITA alumna Paige Butterfield never traveled abroad prior to taking the International TEFL Academy Online TEFL Certification Class and heading to Asia to teach English in South Korea.

In this alumni video, Paige discusses why she decided to get TEFL certified with International TEFL Academy before heading over to Seoul, South Korea.  She addresses the rewards and challenges of moving to a new country and adjusting to her new life. A native of Carbondale, CO, Tommy Joiner has relocated to Medellin, Colombia after completing his Online TEFL Class and teaching English in South Korea for 14 months.

In this video, Tommy describes various aspects of life & teaching English in Medellin, Colombia, from the climate to the cost of living. A graduate student at a local university in Medellin, Tommy gives private English lessons. Tommy explains that Colombia represents a largely undiscovered job market for English teaching and that Medellin offers a high standard living with a fantastic climate, great nightlife and many opportunities to learn Spanish and interact with the local population.

A history buff from Muskegon, Michigan, International TEFL Academy graduate Benjamin Jackson jumped at the chance to teach English in Istanbul, Turkey.

In this video, Ben shares his experiences living as an English teacher on the Asian side of this beautiful city, where he says the hospitality of his Turkish neighbors and colleagues made it easy to settle in as a local. Ben also discusss how he got his job teaching with a major language center by interviewing over Skype, and provides an overview of his daily work routine as well as the process of getting his residency and work visa for teaching English in Turkey.
